Here’s an interesting newspaper article that was forwarded to us by one of our bFFs (blatant© Friends and Fans)…..

Of course, some might wonder what’s so special about it… well, if you wanna know, go read the article.. it’s really worth it. Now that you’ve read the article, the special (i.e. interesting) part is in the picture portion… heheh… gotcha! So anyway, here’s the special part…

If you have been faithfully following our site, and more specifically our custom series, you would recognise the t-shirt in the picture to be the tamikusa design we created for a subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank…. read more about it here: TAMIKUSA POWER

We MUST thank our bFF kida-san for not only noticing this in the newspapers, but also taking the effort to scan it and send it to us! Granted, she sent it to an email that is hardly used now, but we finally found it and now, we can proudly say that, our t-shirt came out in the newpapers! =)

It’s not like they came over and interviewed us lah, but hey, we’ll take this form of publicity as well! heheh…

PS - We’ve been neglecting our custom series for a while now, not because we want to, but because we’ve just had too much to update…. but don’t worry, we will keep updating it whenever we can. We’ve got loads to update for the custom series… it’s just the matter of time and timing… Thanks for your understanding and patience! =)

We promised last week that our new design would be out… and here it is!

Since our theme is about WAR, we chose to go with a green t-shirt design with war like print design; A bleeding dove (traditionally a symbol of peace) sits atop 3 grenades in a pool of blood. And then the question is asked: WAR IN THE NAME OF PEACE?

While we are not pacifists, we definitely do question about the damage that is caused because of war, even if it is in the name of peace. A long time ago, we posted up an article about the brutal and grave consequences of World War II. You can read all about the number of civilians who died and it’s cost to the countries involved.

We at blatant© believe that it is foolhardy to give a straight “yes” or “no” answer because this is an issue that is not so easily solved. However, we would want all of you to think with us about whether war in the name of peace is something that can be averted.

Along with this design is also something different from our previous designs… the blatant© logo is not in the normal places (centre-back, or sleeve)… we decided to put it along the shoulder… like it? =)

As usual, our t-shirts will be available from our ONLINE ORDER PAGE. However, this time round, our t-shirts will also be traveling to Multimedia University Cyberjaya campus from Wednesday, 4th Nov 2009 - Friday, 13th Nov 2009. Yup, it’s gonna be a week long event with other goodies on sale as well… so, if you the type who likes to feel the shirt, touch it, smell it, hug it and all first, then head on down to MMU Cyberjaya! =)

Yes folks, it’s Friday, and we promised that we would give a little teaser about our latest design… the theme for this new t-shirt is WAR….

What about it then? Well, you’ll just have to wait till Monday to find out… BUT, as usual, we’ll “leak” a little bit of it.. blurred out as usual.. but you’ll be glad to know that it’s NOT black this time. =)

But in the meantime, one of singers that I used to love when I was younger was a man called Bruce Springsteen. Well, he did a cover of Edwin Starr’s song called “War” and I thought it’d be a good way to count down to our new t-shirt design on Monday. Watch the video of this song and let’s see how many of you know which movie did this song appear in… =) (no prizes for guessing it correct though. It’s TOO easy!)

Hi Everyone…. thank you all very much for your feedback and compliments (especially in Facebook!) after we posted up our The Awesome Foursome explained… (part 1) . It gives us great joy to know that our efforts and endeavours are appreciated.. =)… but let us not digress from the purpose of this post…

So, back to our awesome foursome explanation, here comes part 2 of the BTS…..

FAITH

In a day and age where everything is relative and anything goes, faith is something that gets derided often, especially by those who think that faith is just misplaced hope. While there is truth that misplaced faith is dangerous, we believe that faith plays a significant part in our lives; It gives you a reason to carry on, it gives meaning to what you want to achieve and a hope that it’s worth it. You don’t have faith because someone else believes it to be so. You have faith because YOU believe it to be so.

But it is exactly for these reasons that the basis of your faith / belief, regardless of whether it is in a person, thing or event, must be founded upon something concrete, something tangible, a truth that you’d be willing to defend. Otherwise, you’ll be as foolish as the guy in our cartoon, if not worse… =)

Like the design loudly proclaims…. FAITH DOES NOT MEAN LEAVING YOUR BRAINS BEHIND…

SHE SHOPS, I DROP

Ah, this is one of our wacky designs which we did more for the fun than anything else. =) We’ve been participating in bazaars and we really noticed how the fairer of our species can really shop! We previously had 2 designs in 4 colours made specially just for the ladies, while we’ve only had 1 design specifically for guys… so we thought this would be a nice addition to our blatant© collection.

We drew the picture of lady being arrested by a police officer for causing the demise of her partner… her crime: SHOPPING TILL HE DROPPED! It’s just a funny t-shirt with a caution that when you spend, to think about your partner as well… =) Yes, yes, we’ve been butchered by several ladies already…. heheh….
