Did any of you go to the ANNEXE GALLERY WEBSITE website to check out what they wrote for the latest edition of Art for Grabs? For those of you who didn’t go the website, this was how they previewed the event:

With 50 stalls selling drawings, handmade crafts and accessories, plus talks, book launch and films, The Annexe Gallery’s art bazaar offers you enough goodies to give you a sense of safety in this time of orificial invasion. Quite the introduction don’t you think? heheh… But anyways, for those of you who went, we are SURE that you guys enjoyed yourselves. We’ve yet to actually hear anyone say that they the event sucked or that they weren’t impressed with wide range of Malaysian artistry and creativity.

Instead, what we have had are people who were very happy with what they saw and what they bought… here are a couple of blogs who blogged about their Art for Grabs blatant© experience:

But in the meantime, here are photos of OUR experience at the recent Art for Grabs…..we’ve included little anecdotal nuggets in the photos themselves, so do click on the photos and view them in full size if you’re unable to read the text….

We had a little surprise for the Art for Grabs event this time, as we allowed EVERY purchase of a blatant© t-shirt to take part in a lucky draw where you could actually win another blatant© t-shirt! Most people didn’t want to believe us until this happened…. =)

Anyways, we enjoyed getting to know new friends, seeing old friends and seeing happy faces all around… but there’s always something special waiting around the corner, like this next picture…

We’ve also compiled a few photos about the other vendors who were part of the Art for Grabs event this time round. Some of them you are regulars as well, just like the Dollhouse & Miniature Association of Malaysia… the previous time they participated, they created a Pasar Malam atmosphere… this time, it was all about makan places… truly amazing….

And finally, we must give a HUGE thank you to the folks who run ANNEXE GALLERY for creating a space where Malaysian creativity can be found and enjoyed. We only managed to take a photo of the person in charge, but there are actually 3 of them…

And suddenly, we’re only 2 days (excluding today-lah) away from the first edition of Art for Grabs for the year 2010! Once again, blatant© has been given the privilege of being part of this creative and arts bazaar and we would like to invite YOU to join us!

The theme of the event this time is entitled ART FOR GRABS March 2010: Slurp it Up with a pretty catchy design as well… =)

We at blatant© are extremely excited about this weekend’s event because our NEW! designs are ready and will be sold there! This is just hot off the oven so you know this is the first time anyone is seeing it!

Of course, as our usual modus operandi, we will definitely get around to explaining our designs, but for now, the short review would be to say that fun was what we had in mind and these two designs are specifically targeted to those who have a specific type of allergy and the other for those who are on the other spectrum of being sentimental… =)

PS - The new designs will be available for online order starting next Monday… so if you’re dying to get your hands on it first, come on down to Central Market this weekend…

This will be our third time participating in this event and it’s always been fun because there are ALWAYS loads of stuff to see (50 vendors) PLUS they always have very interesting screenings and other supporting events…. these are some of the events that will be happening during the Art for Grabs event:

To those of you having a bad week, hang it there! It’s only 2 more days till the weekend… =)

Over the past week, there have been loads of the following: yee sang, cookies, soft drinks, packet drinks, eating, eating, eating, EATING! We Malaysians love our food and we hope that you guys enjoyed the Chinese New Year celebrations as much as we did, whether it was to host friends or to be part of the visiting gang…

At the moment, we’re on a eating break until the next festive season comes along and then we’ll probably start again… heheh… yup, we Malaysians really love our food…

But back to blatant© matters, WE’RE BACK! We suppose the common response would be: “So?” Well, we just want to get you excited about the things that will be coming your way….

Firstly, we’ve got 2 NEW designs scheduled to be ready by mid of next week. Once again, the design style and focus will again be something slightly different, so be prepared to be pleasantly surprised!

Secondly, we have once again managed to secure a spot for the March edition of Art for Grabs that will be held at the Annexe Gallery, Central Market.

And just like that, it’s already 2 months into 2010 and we’re now going to celebrate Chinese New Year. How times flies eh? =)
