For fans of Japanese anime (cartoons) and manga (comics), they would’ve probably known the meaning of tamikusa from the get go…. but not everyone is an anime or manga fan…

So therefore, it was hardly surprising that when blatant© was approached to do IT365’s (a subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank) Call Centre t-shirts, we had to be briefed on what was on the meaning of tamikusa and what did they want to project through the use of this word in their t-shirts.

Simply put, tamikusa just means people. Of course, the meaning may take on greater significance should it be used in a phrase or saying. In this case, they wanted the word tamikusa to symbolise the team from the call centre and their collective unity.

Tasked with this job, we decided to create a logo that would embody the meaning of people and fused by using the letter “T”….. and this is the logo that was presented, accepted, and printed…

The tagline for their theme was put at the back, along with a full stitched tamikusa logo to make it really eye catching… (refer to image above right)

And since this was a Standard Chartered subsidiary, we decided to use the colours from their logo as the base for our t-shirt design.

This is the Standard Chartered logo as found on the sleeve embroidery (just in case you don’t know what it looks like)…

And after everything was said and done, this was the final product for the tamikusa t-shirt…..

We had very happy clients and we were very proud of our creation…

Once again, if you or your company / friends have any queries with regards to what we can offer in terms of t-shirt designing or desktop publishing, don’t hesitate to drop us a line at admin[at]simplyblatant[dot]com. You can be sure that we will revert to you at the very latest in a week….
